KailashnathMahadev Statue, the world's tallest Shiva statue is located
approximately 12 miles (20 kms) east of the capital, Kathmandu in a town called
Sanga. The statue is 144 feet (44 m) high. According
to the List of statues by height, KailashnathMahadev is the world's
fortieth-tallest statue, four places below the Statue of Liberty.
Lord Shiva, the Adi Guru, Yoga is not far from its source. We are not far from our
source. The ultimate master of Kundalini energy, Lord Shiva neither has an
origin nor an end. His half-closed eyes symbolize the deep trance one can
achieve within self which means all the answers that we seek for are
within us. The proponent of Hatha Yoga, the symbol of mystical knowledge,
the guardians of all beings and the abode for the homeless, Shiva is the
ultimate guru of Yoga. He is the lord of the five elements from which the
universe is created.
Kumari, Nepal’s Living Goddess, Kumari is the human form of Goddess Taleju, the
aspect of Shakti for power and protection. The tantric Goddess Taleju resides
in the body of a pure young virgin girl. The Goddess Kumari is born in a
Buddhist family and becomes a Hindu deity.
In addition, Nepal is considered the melting pot of
Buddhisim and Hindusim. Lumbini (Birthplace of Buddha) in southern Nepal is
visited by Buddhists from around the world. The large numbers of lamas,
rinpochhes and stupas make Nepal an ideal place for those interested in Tibetan
Buddhism. Very few people are aware that the original Tibetan culture survives
in remote and exotic Nepalese villages bordering Tibet inhabited by people of
Tibetan origin, and not in Tibet itself.
